Size & Weight

  • All gemstones are measured in millimeters (mm).
  • Dimensions are listed as length × width × depth, except for round stones which are measured as diameter × depth.
  • Always choose gemstones by size, not by weight!
  • Different gem varieties have different densities, so carat weight isn’t a reliable indicator of size.

Gemstones Treatments Explained
Treatment Description
Natural This gemstone has zero treatments—no heat, no irradiation, no filling, no stabilisation. It’s simply mined, cut, and polished.
Heated Heating enhances or develops colour and clarity, commonly seen in Sapphire, Ruby, Tanzanite, Topaz, and Zircon.
Dyed This process adds colouring agents to create a richer, more even colour. Traditionally associated with Agate and still used today for certain Onyx and Agate stones.
Irradiated Radiation treatment modifies light absorption, transforming clear stones like Topaz into blue varieties.
Coated A thin metallic film is added to produce the iridescent look found in Mystic or Azotic quartz.
Smoked Foil-wrapping and gentle heating allow smoke to enter the opal, darkening its body colour and boosting play-of-colour. Common in some Ethiopian Black Opals.
Stabilised Resin or polymer is infused into porous gems to improve hardness, density, and colour—essential for fragile stones like Turquoise.
Cultured Human-assisted pearls grown in freshwater or saltwater molluscs. They grow faster and are more reliable, which keeps them affordable.

Perfect for Jewelry Making

The changing flashes of color make Ethiopian Opal an exciting centerpiece for both traditional and contemporary jewelry. Depending on the individual piece, it can be used for:

  • Statement rings
  • Elegant pendants
  • Handmade necklaces
  • Earrings
  • Bracelets
  • Custom jewelry
  • Wire-wrapped designs
  • Bezel-set creations
  • Artisan jewelry
  • Collector and designer pieces

A single Ethiopian Opal can provide multiple colors within the same stone, allowing jewelry designers to coordinate it with different metals and complementary gemstones.

Every Stone Has Its Own Color Story

One of the greatest attractions of Ethiopian Opal is its individuality. The intensity, distribution and combination of play-of-color can vary naturally from one piece to another. Some stones may reveal bright green and blue flashes, while others can show warmer yellow, orange or red tones.

These natural variations make each gemstone unique and ensure that your finished jewelry piece has its own visual identity. Slight differences in pattern, transparency and internal characteristics are part of the natural beauty of the material.

Carefully Cut in Our Own Manufacturing Unit

We cut and finish our gemstones in our own manufacturing unit, allowing us to maintain close attention to shaping, polishing and final presentation. Our skilled artisans have around 20 years of experience working with gemstones and bring extensive practical knowledge to the finishing process.

Each selected Ethiopian Opal is checked by our quality control team to ensure the overall polish, shape, surface and presentation meet our standards before shipment.

Authenticity & Quality Control

Our gemstone collection is supported by expert gemologists and experienced artisans who carefully work with and evaluate gemstone materials. Stones are tested through authentic laboratory sources as applicable, helping us maintain dependable quality standards.

We provide gemstones for jewelry designers, collectors, artists, resellers and creators who appreciate natural materials with distinctive visual characteristics.

Multiple Options to Choose From

Our Ethiopian Opal collection offers multiple options so you can select according to your preferred size, shape, body tone and play-of-color. Whether you are searching for a subtle gemstone for an everyday pendant or a more vibrant piece for a statement ring, you can choose the option that best suits your design.

$5 Combined Delivery

Choose as many Ethiopian Opals as you need and add them to the same order. Our delivery charge is only $5, and you can add additional stones without paying extra shipping for each individual piece.

We carefully pack every order to support smooth delivery and help your selected gemstones arrive safely and ready for your jewelry-making project.

As the stone moves, different flashes can appear and disappear, giving the gemstone a lively quality that static-colored stones cannot easily reproduce. Choose an individual Ethiopian Opal and turn its natural color play into the centerpiece of your next jewelry creation.

Gemstones are naturally occurring minerals prized for their beauty, color, and rarity. They are used in jewelry, decorations, and sometimes for spiritual purposes.
A cabochon is smooth and polished, usually dome-shaped, without any cuts. A faceted gemstone has multiple small angled cuts that reflect light and create sparkle.
Authenticity can be checked through certified labs, hardness tests, refractive index, or sometimes using UV light or a microscope. Buying from certified sellers is the safest way.
Some people believe gemstones carry spiritual or healing energies. For example, amethyst is thought to bring peace and clarity, while rose quartz is linked to love and harmony.
