Size & Weight

  • All gemstones are measured in millimeters (mm).
  • Dimensions are listed as length × width × depth, except for round stones which are measured as diameter × depth.
  • Always choose gemstones by size, not by weight!
  • Different gem varieties have different densities, so carat weight isn’t a reliable indicator of size.

Gemstones Treatments Explained
Treatment Description
Natural This gemstone has zero treatments—no heat, no irradiation, no filling, no stabilisation. It’s simply mined, cut, and polished.
Heated Heating enhances or develops colour and clarity, commonly seen in Sapphire, Ruby, Tanzanite, Topaz, and Zircon.
Dyed This process adds colouring agents to create a richer, more even colour. Traditionally associated with Agate and still used today for certain Onyx and Agate stones.
Irradiated Radiation treatment modifies light absorption, transforming clear stones like Topaz into blue varieties.
Coated A thin metallic film is added to produce the iridescent look found in Mystic or Azotic quartz.
Smoked Foil-wrapping and gentle heating allow smoke to enter the opal, darkening its body colour and boosting play-of-colour. Common in some Ethiopian Black Opals.
Stabilised Resin or polymer is infused into porous gems to improve hardness, density, and colour—essential for fragile stones like Turquoise.
Cultured Human-assisted pearls grown in freshwater or saltwater molluscs. They grow faster and are more reliable, which keeps them affordable.

Add an artistic combination of cool blue color and organic natural patterning to your jewelry designs with this natural Moss Blue Opal gemstone. The stone can display soft blue, aqua, blue-green, gray-blue, and muted greenish tones, often accompanied by delicate moss-like or clouded patterns that create an earthy appearance within the gemstone.

Its natural pattern may appear as wispy formations, cloudy areas, flowing patches, or subtle green and darker markings distributed across the blue body. Some pieces can show a calm pastel appearance, while others may have stronger blue tones and more pronounced internal patterning. These natural variations give every Moss Blue Opal cabochon its own character and make each stone especially appealing for handmade and artistic jewelry.

The soothing color palette makes this gemstone suitable for rings, pendants, earrings, bracelets, necklaces, statement jewelry, and custom designs. Its blue and earthy green appearance can complement silver, gold-tone, copper, and mixed-metal settings, making it a versatile option for both contemporary and nature-inspired jewelry creations.

Each Moss Blue Opal gemstone is shaped and polished in our own manufacturing unit with careful attention to the stone's natural pattern, proportions, surface finish, and overall appearance. Our dedicated quality control team checks the finished pieces before dispatch, while experienced gemologists and skilled artisans with more than 20 years of experience contribute to our selection and craftsmanship. Professional laboratory testing is also available for authenticity and quality requirements.

Whether you are a jewelry designer, collector, artisan, lapidary artist, or reseller, these natural Moss Blue Opal stones offer a distinctive material for creating individual jewelry pieces. Every gemstone carries its own combination of color and pattern, allowing your finished design to retain a truly natural and artistic appearance.

Gemstones are naturally occurring minerals prized for their beauty, color, and rarity. They are used in jewelry, decorations, and sometimes for spiritual purposes.
A cabochon is smooth and polished, usually dome-shaped, without any cuts. A faceted gemstone has multiple small angled cuts that reflect light and create sparkle.
Authenticity can be checked through certified labs, hardness tests, refractive index, or sometimes using UV light or a microscope. Buying from certified sellers is the safest way.
Some people believe gemstones carry spiritual or healing energies. For example, amethyst is thought to bring peace and clarity, while rose quartz is linked to love and harmony.
